On 25th anniversary of bilateral relations

26 May, 16:12
(ANSA) - LUBIANA - Slovenia's President Borut Pahor talked on the phone with Vladimir Putin, president of the Russian Federation, to highlight the importance of relations between the two countries on the twenty-fifth anniversary of Slovenia's recognition of Moscow and the beginning of diplomatic relations.

President Pahor's office announced through a written statement that the two interlocutors agreed that, despite the current difficulties in the international scenario, Slovenia and Russia enjoy an excellent relationship, both between the states and their presidents. There are also good prospects to consolidate economic collaboration. Putin then said that the gas supply contract of more than 600 million euros, signed in Moscow in February, will soon become effective. Putin visited Slovenia in July 2016 to commemorate the centenary of the Russian chapel on the Vrsic pass (Moistrocca, Ed) built in memory of Russian prisoners who were killed in avalanche during the First World War.
