Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia discuss their energy disputies

Liquefied natural gas terminal and power grids

08 May, 10:12
(ANSA) - TRIESTE - The prime ministers of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are meeting in Tallinn on Monday to talk about disputies on strategic gas and energy projects, The Baltic Times reports.

Lithuania aims to persuade the other countries on the need for the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to secure European funding: in order to get 100-150 million euros in EU support, the country requires Latvia's and Estonia's approval. Estonia has LNG project ambitions itself and would like to secure EU support.

The prime ministers will also discuss the possibility to synchronize power grids via Poland in a single link. (ANSA).
