Greece-Russia, agreement on Turkish Stream gas pipeline

Across Greek territory, from Russia a loan for 100% of cost

(ANSA) - MOSCOW - Russia and Greece have reached a preliminary agreement on the passage of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline across Greek territory. The deal was signed today in St.

Petersburg - Bloomberg reported -, by the energy ministers of the two countries. Russia, Alexander Novak explained, will provide Greece with a loan to support 100% of the pipeline's cost, and the section won't be under Gazprom's control. ''The agreement with Russia is not against any country in Europe or in the world,'' Greece's Energy Minister Panagiotis Lafazanis said, explaining that this deal ''sets the stage for further cooperation with Russia''.

Lafazanis added that the first revenues from the pipeline are expected to be generated after 2019. (ANSA).
