(ANSA) - ROME - Some Greenpeace activists - including four
Italians - along with representatives of the ''SOS for the
Adriatic Sea'' coalition, protested today in Zagreb at a
conference on Croatia's energy security. These activists,
opposed to oil and gas drilling, have exposed large banners,
saying ''Don't spOIL the Adriatic'', ''Go solar, not fossil''
and ''Minister of Dirty Affairs''. They symbolically offered
''sardines seasoned with crude oil'' to the conference
participants, in order to warn them that the Adriatic Sea is
facing dreadful dangers. This news was reported by the
environmental organization, stating that the meeting was
attended by Croatian Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak,
responsible for the plan to extract hydrocarbons (oil and gas)
that Croatia's government wants to carry out in the Adriatic
Sea.
