(ANSA) - MOSCOW - Ihor Kolomoisky, powerful tycoon and
governor of the eastern Ukrainian region of Dnipropetrovsk, has
resigned in the midst of a power struggle of oligarchic and
political nature with President Petro Poroshenko.
The resignation arrived after Poroshenko's ultimatum following a
blitz of alleged Kolomoisky's gunmen who had surrounded the
headquarters of Ukrnafta, one of the country's major oil
companies. The blitz happened following the attempt by the state
to regain control over the company administered by the oligarch,
who only owns a 42% company share, while the Government controls
its majority. (ANSA).
