Enel to sell Romania-Slovakia business by year-end

'There is no concern about Ukrainian gas'

26 August, 17:22
(ANSA) - RIMINI - As for the sales that Enel has planned in Slovakia and Romania, ''the process is moving forward in a very orderly and organised manner, without any particular turbulence'', Enel Ceo Francesco Storace said today.

''This is the period in which potential buyers begin to appear: everything is pretty clear. The names are the same that you have already heard about, those you could read in the newspapers''. ''Now - he added - the banks that we have charged with doing this job will gather all the bids as we receive them and then draw the conclusions. I suppose, probably, by the year-end''.

''We do not think there are special concerns about gas'', Enel Ceo said, responding to a question posed to him about the risk that the crisis in Ukraine could affect gas supplies from Russia. No red alert concerning gas, ''even though there are some concerns about security in general'', he added. It's a situation that ''should worry us in itself, apart from the gas issue: I say this because we are dealing with a large country on the borders of Europe, and the situation is not quiet at all''.
