(ANSA) - LJUBLJANA - The earthquake that has affected Slovenia
on Tuesday ''does not have any influence on the safety and
operation of the Krko nuclear power plant''. This is what the
management of the Slovenian nuclear power plant said speaking to
ANSA after the earthquake, explaining that the magnitude of the
quake (4.6 on the Richter scale) did not require any
intervention by the staff operating the plant.
''The nuclear power plant has been built in compliance with
anti-seismic and geological characteristics of the land on which
it is located'', Krko management underlined. The earthquake
which occurred on Tuesday, despite its intensity, did not cause
any harm to people or property. There was some minor damage near
the epicenter, where there was some flaking plaster about old
buildings and some tiles fell out. (ANSA).
