Romania: at least 20,000 emigrated in first semester 2018

Preferred destinations are Germany, Netherlands, Austria

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 18 AGO - At least 20,000 Romanians have emigrated in the first half of 2018, after having found a job abroad through employment agencies, the portal Romania Insider reported.

The number of people that left the country in the first part of the year could be however much higher, as the EU labour market is open and people are not obliged to notify the authorities when leaving to work abroad, Romania Insider clarified.

Currently, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Spain and the United Kingdom are the preferred destinations for Romanians willing to emigrate. (ANSA).
