Romania: cigarettes black market is expanding

In July highest level recorded in 2018

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 17 AGO - The black market of cigarettes is expanding in Romania, according to data by the agency Novel Research, quoted by the news agency Agerpres.

Novel Research said that the black market hit 18.2 per cent of the total consumption in July 2018, +2.1% compared with June, the highest level this year. The northeastern area of the country, Agerpres added, continues to be the most affected by the black market phenomenon, with 39.5 per cent of the total consumption, while the illicit trade of cigarettes grew also in western Romania.
