Bulgaria, last in Europe in terms of organ donors
30 transplants in 2016, 1,085 persons on waiting lists

(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Bulgaria is the last country in Europe in terms of the number of organ donors and second-last for number of transplants, the director of the National Agency for Transplants, Mariyana Simeonova said as reported by Novinite.
A total of 30 transplants have been carried out since the beginning of 2016, while 1,085 persons are on waiting list, mainly for kidney transplant. "The Government must create the conditions for the development of transplantation", Simeonova said reportedly. (ANSA).
