(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 22 SET - European Anti-Fraud Office (Olaf),
has identified possible fraud in 556 EU-funded projects in
Romania, Bucarest-based media reported, adding that these are
all projects implemented under the 2007-2013 funding scheme. The
total value of suspected fraud is more than 231 million euros,
while the projects with regularities were worth 1.3 billion
euros total. Irregularities were identified by the Romania's
anti-fraud department during checks conducted for 1,150
projects. The results were presented in Romania by the general
director of Olaf, Giovanni Kessler. (ANSA).
