(ANSA) - BERLIN, July 26 - Eighty-six billion euros in ten
years: this is the amount of the investment on the German rail
network infrastructure that the government in Berlin and
Deutsche Bahn have agreed to make.
The financing deal between the State and the DB that is about
to expire provided for a 5,6bn investment per year: the annual
funding, therefore, is considerably higher to renovate the
33,000 km railway network that urgently needs to be fixed.
This commitment, the DPA explained, is included in the policy
to favor the use of the train - for reasons of sustainability -
pursued by the government led by Angela Merkel. (ANSA).
