(ANSA) - VENICE, JUNE 24 - The new Venice Boat Show closed
today at the Arsenal totaling 27,000 visitors in five days. The
'Naval Art returns Home' - the claim of the event reads - was
therefore successful. Venice mayor Luigi Brugnaro said that the
city is ready for the upcoming editions.
"Venice - he said - has proved to be again the 'queen' of the
seas with the widest openness in terms of culture. We have shown
our abilities in design and architecture, but we have also been
able to resume our traditional activities. Our local
administration has already funded for another two years. We
don't want it to be an impromptu event".
The Salone, which took place at the Arsenale in conjunction
with the exhibitions of the Biennale Arte 2019, was enriched by
exhibitions and cultural events focusing on different aspects of
the 'marine civilization'.
During the show, 43 meetings took place and were attended by
operators, designers, politicians, and managers, who discussed
the various aspects of navigation (environment, sustainability,
yacht design), and 8 exhibitions featured the subjects of
boating, sea, and transport. "Our goal - Brugnaro added - is to
turn the show into a regular event, and in fact, we have already
begun collecting registrations for the next edition. We want to
showcase the whole sector, from small boats to large ones. The
upcoming editions will involve not only the Arsenal, but the
whole city, and Venice has already begun to work on this plan".
