(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 15 - Kosovo's president Hashim Thaci
said he believes an agreement with Belgrade is possible this
year. In an interview published by the British newspaper
Guardian, taken up by the Serbian media, Thaci said, however,
that has no plans to lift tariffs on Serbian goods (increased by
100%) that led to a suspension of talks.
''We have to sit down even with our arch enemies, without any
preconditions, trying to listen to each other'', said Thaci
ahead of the April 29 regional conference convened by Angela
Merkel and Emmanuel Macron. In Pristina, Fatmir Limaj,
co-chairman of the Kosovar negotiation team, said that the
Kosovar leadership is ready to continue the dialogue in order to
reach an agreement with Belgrade. Cited by local media, Limaj
called on the international community to urge Serbia to resume
negotiations. But Serbia has reiterated that resuming dialogue
is only possible if Kosovo will lift the 100% customs duties
imposed on Serbian imports.(ANSA).
