Hungary: minister, minimum wage for workers to increase

In 2019 +8%, more 8% expected next year

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 03 GEN - The minimum wage for workers in Hungary will increase eight per cent in 2019 and another 8% in 2020. The Hungarian Finance ministry clarified that the minimum wage increased to HUF 149,000 (around 462 euros), while the guaranteed wage minimum for qualified workers to HUF 195,000 (approx. 604 euros) from January 1st, resulting in the "the amounts of both wage categories" to increase "to more than double the amounts recorded in 2010." By 2020 the amount of the minimum wage will rise to HUF 161,000 (500 euros), the guaranteed wage minimum to HUF 210,600 (653 euros).

The agreement was signed by the government, all employer interest representations and worker organizations, with the exception of the National Confederation of Hungarian Trade Unions, the ministry said. (ANSA).
