Germany: drop in manufacturing industry, 3rd month in a row
Down 0.3% in August, forecasts for a rise contradicted

(ANSA) - ROME, 8 OCT - A bucket of cold water over German
growth and its European partners: German industrial production
in August dropped unexpectedly for the third month in a row,
down 0.3% against up 0.3% expected by economists.
Fall was driven by the threat of trade protectionism, and the
most negative items are investments in capital goods and the
construction sector. The Bundesbank has however recently
expressed optimism on growth, and in August industrial orders
stopped declining.
