Romania: 10 bln euro needed for electricity network

To modernize the obsolete transport grid

08 September, 20:05
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 8 - Romania may need to invest almost 10 billion euros to modernize the obsolete national electricity distribution network, said the CEO of the Electrica company, Catalin Stancu, as quoted by the portal Business Review. "There is an obvious need for massive infrastructure investment," Stancu said, adding that "60 percent of Romania's distribution and transport network" is "relatively old." Currently, distribution companies can invest up to 400 million euros yearly in the infrastructure modernization.
