Works on 43 kilometers of the motorway, third lane
27 August, 14:00 (ANSA) - BELGRADE, 27 AGO - Hungary will modernize a
43-kilometers section of the M1 highway connecting Budapest to
Vienna, adding a third lane to the highway, the Hungarian
Innovation and Technology minister Laszlo Palkovics told the
portal Origo, local media reported.
According to Palkovics, the M1 highway, one of the most important in the country, is reaching its traffic tolerance limit. Local media said that the revamping project will cost around 77 million euros and may start already in September, with the end of works scheduled for late 2019. The construction of the third lane should start in 2021.
