(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUNE 22 - In the first six months of this
year the European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed agreements
that worth 600 million euros for projects in the Western
Balkans, and more than half of the amount - about 340 million
euros - will be destined for Serbia.
That's what said today Dubravka Negre, head of the EIB Office
for the Western Balkans, based in Belgrade. Since 2001, when it
resumed its activities in Serbia, the EIB has financed projects
in the Balkan Country for 5.3 billion euro, Negre told Tanjug,
in view of the 60th anniversary of the EIB (which has been
active in the Western Balkans for 40 years).
The projects, Dubravka Negre specified, involved both public and
private sectors, such as infrastructure, transport, energy,
education, scientific research, health, municipal services, and
support for small and medium-sized enterprises. (ANSA).
