(ANSA) - BELGRADO - Two paintings by Gaspar van Wittel,
belonging to Intesa Sanpaolo art collection, are on display at
the Historical Museum of Serbia in Belgrade, an event organised
by Intesa Sanpaolo President Gian Maria Gros-Pietro on a visit
to the Serbian capital city.
''I am very proud to have brought these two masterpieces to the
Historical Museum of Serbia from Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano in
Naples'', said Gros-Pietro. ''Intesa Sanpaolo - he added - works
in countries rich in culture and heritage, and believes that
cultural activities are a way to foster friendship between
peoples and communities. Investing in culture encourages social
progress and supports economic growth''.
Hanging in the museum until October 29, two van Wittel's olis on
canvas dating back to early 18th century - 'View of Rome, with
Piazza Navona' and 'View of Rome, with People's Square'.
Draginja Djuric, president of Banca Intesa Beograd, expressed
great satisfaction with the initiative. ''We are very proud to
