(ANSA) - BRUXELLES - The European Commission has backed a nearly 16 million euros European Investment Bank (Eib) loan agreement with Sits, a Polish furniture-making company. The agreement will allow Sits to expand its manufacturing and warehousing facilities, located in Grudzidz, and up to 500 new jobs are expected to be created in the construction phase of the project. More direct and indirect jobs are expected to be created once the plant becomes operational.

The "loan agreement will help the Polish furniture maker Sits to expand their facilities in Poland, grow its range of high-quality products and create new jobs along the way", Commissioner Elbieta Biekowska, responsible for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, said.

This agreement was supported by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). The Juncker Plan is now expected to trigger over 6.5 billion euros in investments in Poland.(ANSA).
