EU, Charlemagne Youth Prize 2017 goes to Poland

The award-winning project is Erasmus Evening, a web radio show

(ANSA) - BRUXELLES - 2017's Charlemagne Youth Prize has been awarded to the Erasmus Evening radio show from Poland. The prize is given out by the European Parliament and the International Charlemagne Prize Foundation every year to young people aged between 16 and 30 who have been involved with projects helping to promote understanding between people from different European countries. The ceremony took place in Aachen, Germany, on 23 May.

The winner awarded online project is a show for Polish students studying abroad and foreigners studying in Poland as part of the Erasmus programme. It was broadcast on the student radio station Radio Meteor UAM at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The interviews touched upon various issues such as how to select subjects, find a flat in another country, the differences between universities and opportunities they create.

The projects that came first, second and third received €7,500, €5,000 and €2,500 respectively. Among the award-winning projects, "Re-discover Europe" (Denmark) placed second, followed by the third-ranked "Are We Europe" (The Netherlands). (ANSA).
