(ANSA) - TRIESTE - Construction works in Romania's
residential sector grew by 13.5% in the first eleven months of
2016 compared to the same period in 2015, data released by the
National Bureau of Statistics show. The non-residential
constructions were up by 2.3% in the same period of reference,
while infrastructure works dropped by 5.8%. Last November a
78% growth was registered in terms of residential construction
compared to the same month of 2015. Non-residential
constructions grew by 17.9% in the same period, while the
infrastructure sector saw a 37.4% drop. In 2008, the record
year for construction works in Romania, over 64,000 houses were
built, while the successive years saw a recession due to the
economic crisis. The recovery started in 2015, when a 10.4%
increase was registered on a yearly basis. (ANSA).
