Bulgaria poorest country, consumption 50% below EU average
Eurostat, Luxembourg richest country, 40% above average
16 June, 14:23(ANSA) - BRUSSELS - In 2014 Bulgaria, followed by Romania and Croatia, was the poorest country in Europe, according to Eurostat's new index, which measures the well-being of families, that is the actual individual consumption (AIC). In 2014, the index reached its peak in Luxembourg, where it was 40% higher than the EU average. Germany and Austria were 20% above average, followed by Denmark, Belgium, Sweden, the UK, Finland, France and the Netherlands, with levels between 10% and 15% higher than the EU average.(ANSA).
