(ANSA) - BERLIN - Despite the international economic crisis and
war scenarios in Ukraine and the Middle East, the sales of
German industrial machinery manufacturers will continue to grow
this year, hitting a new record. In 2014, industry will reach
210 billion in revenues, with a real increase by 1%, whereas in
2015 the turnover is expected to grow by 2%. ''We are not going
'backwards', but we're growing'', said Reinhold Festge,
president of the Association of VDMA producers today in Berlin.
And the effects can be seen also on employment: in August, for
the first time since 1993, over 1 million workers were recorded
in the sector, 18,000 more than in the same month last year.
