(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JULY 31 - The EU Council has added six
entities to the 'black list' of those that were sanctioned for
actions that compromise or threaten Ukraine's territorial
integrity. The measures consist of asset-freezing orders.
The six entities were added to the blacklist, due to their
participation in the construction of the Kerch bridge, which
links Russia with the Crimean peninsula.
According to the EU Council, in fact, the six entities have
supported the consolidation of Russia's control of the Crimean
peninsula, illegally annexed.
Today's decision brings to 44 the total number of entities
added to the list, which already includes 155 people. The other
measures taken by the EU in order to respond to Ukrainian crisis
are: economic sanctions concerning specific sectors of the
Russian economy, in force until January 31, 2019; and
restrictive measures in response to the illegal annexation of
Crimea and Sevastopol, which will remain in force until June 23,
2019. (ANSA).
