(ANSA) - UDINE, MAY 8 - BorderWine, the cross-border showcase of natural wine, the only event dedicated to wines produced in accordance with some specific and strict standards, involving the wineries from the 3 neighbouring countries, Italy, Austria and Slovenja, will be held on May 27 and 28 at Cividale del Friuli (Udine). The third edition of the fair will take place at the Monastery of Santa Maria in Valle, the medieval monument which includes the famous Longobard Temple, the most important example of Longbard architecture. Over 50 wineries will participate in the event, giving every visitor the opportunity to taste their own natural wines. In order to take part in the fair, it is mandatory to meet some specific standards to be respected according to the BorderWine regulation: the choice of the terroir, the respect of biodiversity, the exclusion of pesticides, additives or chemical or physical manipulation. The future of enology and agriculture in general must increasingly take into account both the respect of environmental resources and the growing phenomenon of allergies and diseases related to the ''chemical components'' of wines. During the two days, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Cividale, the ERSA (FVG Region's agency for agriculture) and the Udine Chamber of Commerce, meetings and conferences will be organized with producers, oenologists and sommeliers, focusing on the characteristics of natural wines. Food will be on the stage too: during BorderWine, you can taste the sweet delights made by MAMM Ciclofocacceria (Udine), the restaurant Grani di Pepe (Flaibano) and other typical food products thanks to the presence of several local producers. Sunday at 8.30pm, the ''Tre Re'' restaurant will host the exclusive dinner with menu prepared by chef Francesco Brutto from Undicesimo Vineria in Treviso, 1 Michelin star, and the event will be conducted by Lorenzo Sandano, gastronomist and food writer at L'Espresso. The following day will be as rich in meetings and tastings, such as the master class ''Vigna vecchia fan buon vino'': a journey through the history of oenology with seven selected wines from local vines. The meeting will be conducted by the wine philosopher of Natura delle Cose and Rimessa Roscioli Gaetano Saccoccio. At 8pm, final event with the show cooking of the emerging chefs of Il Giglio restaurant in Lucca.
