Balkans: World Bank lifts growth forecasts for 5 countries
But lowers GDP growth for Bulgaria, Kosovo, Romania
09 January, 18:13Albania's GDP is expected to grow by 3.6% in 2019, 0.1 percentage points higher than the previous projection, the specialized portal SeeNews reported. Also Croatia is forecasted to grow faster in 2019 than expected, with the GDP at 2.8% (+0.1%), the same growth like in Montenegro (+0.2% over the previous estimates). The World Bank increased the growth forecast also for Macedonia by 0.2% to 2.9% and for Moldova by 0.1% to 3.8%. The World Bank confirmed its 2019 projections for Bosnia and Herzegovina (3.4%) and Serbia (3.5%), while the it lowered the forecasts for Bulgaria, Kosovo and Romania to 3.1%, 4.5% and 3.5%, respectively.
