Alliance for Serbia at 14%, drop of EU integration support

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 03 GEN - The ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) of president Aleksandar Vucic would get 53% of preferences if elections were held in the country, a new survey carried by the Factor plus agency revealed, local media reported.

The survey, conducted at the end of November, before the series of opposition-led protests in Belgrade, shows that the opposition Alliance for Serbia (SzS) could get over 14 percent of votes at the elections, while the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) at 9.6%. The ultra-nationalist Serbian Radical Party (SRS), currently at 4.5%, would not pass the five percent threshold. The poll showed that the SNS leader and Serbia's president Vucic is currently the most popular politician in the country, with 57 percent of support. The survey tackled as well the euro integration topic, showing that the popular support for Serbia's European Union membership could be decreasing, with only 34 percent supporting it, a significant drop from the 55 percent recorded in the August 2018 survey by the Ministry of European Integration, the regional Tv N1 said.
