Serbia: Erste revises upward GDP, +4%
Strong acceleration of economic activity in first half of 2018

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEPTEMBER 12 - Erste Group Research
revised upwards the GDP forecast for Serbia today, from 3.5% y/y
to 4% y/y in 2018.
In a statement, Erste said that the decision was taken as the GDP growth figures for the first and second quarter of the current year "landed at an unexpectedly strong 4.9% y/y and 4.8% y/y, respectively." The growth of GDP in Serbia was mainly driven by stable private consumption and by a strong rebound of investments.
"We expect a continuation of positive economic trends for the rest of the year," with domestic demand "as the key growth factor," Erste added. (ANSA).
