Kosovo: Fabrizi (EU), dialogue format does not change

Head of delegation in Belgrade, 'Europe remains the mediator'

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - The format of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina does not change and continues to be EU-mediated, said Sem Fabrizi, Italian diplomat leading the EU delegation in Serbia, adding that there are no requests for change to this format.

''The dialogue continues to be EU-mediated and there are no requests for change'', Fabrizi told reporters, who asked him to comment on statements by Serbia's president. According to Aleksandar Vucic, it is unrealistic to think that the Kosovo issue can be resolved without involving the US and Russia. The media in Belgrade in recent days reported that France, Germany and the Netherlands are willing to take part in the negotiations on Kosovo.

On several occasions, the leadership in Pristina called for the involvement of the United States in the dialogue with Belgrade, but Serbia believes that, in this case, Russia and possibly China should also participate. ''The dialogue process cannot exclusively involve countries that recognize Kosovo's independence'', Vucic said. (ANSA).
