(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUNE 6 - Fiat has so far invested more than 1.4bn euros in the Kragujevac plant, central Serbia, where the 500L model is produced, the factory's managing director Alessio Leonardi reported. He then underlined the importance for Serbia to continue its industrialisation path to achieve higher levels of growth and modernisation. Speaking today at a conference on 'Industry 4.0', Leonardi said that the Kragujevac plant is one of the most advanced and automated of the FCA group. Competitiveness and high technological level are essential to make progress in the industrial field, he said. According to the agreement made between Fiat and Serbia in 2008, Fiat owns 67% of the Kragujevac plant, the Serbian government the remaining 33%.
