Living quality: Vienna ranking first for ninth year in a row
According to Mercer's ranking, 'New Europe' lagging behind
21 March, 10:57The Austrian capital reached the top of the ranking for the ninth year in a row, followed by Zurich, and Auckland and Munich, both third. Iraqi's capital, Baghdad, lays at the bottom of the ranking, which includes 231 cities.
The best 'New Europe' area entry is Prague, 69th in the ranking, followed by Ljubljana (75th), Budapest (76th), Bratislava (80th), Vilnius (81th), Warsaw (82th), Athens (86th), Tallinn (87), Riga (90), Zagreb (98) and Wroclaw (100). After the 100th place, cities such as Bucharest (107th), Sofia (116th), Belgrade (139th), Sarajevo (159th), Skopje (161th), Kiev (173th), Tirana (176th) and Minsk (188th).
The ranking is based on several parameters, including political and social environment, natural environment, transport, housing, culture, schools and education, health assistance. (ANSA).
