Serbia-Russia: Lavrov visits Belgrade, he will meet Vucic

Talks will focus on relations and situation in the Balkans

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - Russia's Foreign Minister Serghiei Lavrov arrived in Belgrade in the afternoon to meet with the Serbian leadership and talk about strengthening the bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Balkan region. On the table at he summit, even Moscow's support for Serbia regarding the Kosovo issue. Officially, reported local media, the visit is linked to the celebrations for the 180 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This evening Lavrov will meet with Serbia's president Aleksandar Vucic, whereas he will meet with his countepart Ivica Dacic and Serbian premier Ana Brnabic tomorrow. Lavrov, along with Vucic, will visit tomorrow the Orthodox Cathedral of San Sava where he will attend the official debut of the great mosaic that decorates the central dome, a mosaic made in Russia by a team led by the well-known artist Nikolaj Muhin, and transported at various times to Belgrade. Russia's energy giant 'Gazpromnieft' financed the whole operation with 4 million euros.(ANSA).
