Calzedonia: 2019 turnover exceeds 2.4bn, 56% abroad

200m investment in e-commerce and factories

(ANSA) - MILAN, JAN 27 - The turnover of the Calzedonia Group, based in Dossobuono di Villafranca (Verona) reached 2,411m in 2019, up 4.7% (up 4.4% at constant exchange rates) and the revenue generated abroad rose to 56%. The volume of sales on the e-commerce channel also increased. To integrate retail sales with online and innovative factories, the company of Sandro Veronesi, which has the Intimissimi, Tezenis and Falconeri brands, as well as for Atelier Emé wedding dresses and the bistro chain Signorvino, made investments up to 200m.

The balance of the group's openings, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, and Ethiopia, recorded an increase of 188 new stores, of which 138 are located abroad, including China, Russia, France, Germany, Japan, and the USA. At the end of 2019, the number of stores reached 4,859, 3,103 abroad and 1,756 in Italy. The group will continue to enhance Intimissimi Uomo, Signorvino and Atelier Emé in Italy, and the modernization of the existing Calzedonia, Intimissimi, and Tezenis stores will go on. In 2020, the first Signorvino openings abroad are being evaluated, starting from the countries of Eastern Europe. (ANSA).
