(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCTOBER 12 - The Romanian government has
adopted a new series of measures against the African Swine Fever
(ASF), after the European Commission has approved a measures for
financial support for Romania. In total, 43 million euros will
be allotted, part from the EU part from the national budget.
The funds will be used for disinfection equipment,
sanitary-veterinary laboratories, swine fever detection devices,
incinerators, the portal Romania Insider reported.
Part of the funds will be used also to provide financial aid
to farmers.
The Romanian Agriculture minister Petre Daea said that there
are good signs that the spreading of the virus is stopping,
Romania Insider quoted him as saying, noting that Romania has
until now registered 1,000 outbreaks of swine fever, with around
350,000 pigs culled to stop the virus from spreading. (ANSA).
