(ANSA) - KRYNICA ZDROJ (POLAND), SEPTEMBER 4 - In Poland the Krynica Zdroj 28th Economic Forum, that is the most important conference focusing on economy in Central and Eastern Europe, has already begun and will be attended over 4,000 guests. This year's edition, also supported by Italian partners such as the Institute for Competitiveness and the Medi Studies Center, as well as the Cultural Institute of Krakow, will try to answer the question: 'Should Europe be based on common values or common interests?'.

The event includes 180 discussion panels, workshops, conferences and discussions about the world's current political, economic and social situation, involving heads of government and parliaments, ministers and MPs from Central and Eastern European countries, presidents of the most important companies, experts, representatives of science, culture and media from over 60 countries.

Among the participants in cultural events are: the historian Marco Patricelli who will hold a conference on September 6 on his most successful publication, 'Il Volontario' (Laterza), also published in Polish and French, a book focusing on the life of the Polish cavalry captain, Witold Pilecki, who voluntarily became a prisoner in the Auschwitz extermination camp in order to start reporting the horrors of the Shoah.
