Poland: World Bank raise GDP forecast to 4.2%

Stimulated by consumption and investments

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 28 APR - The World Bank has slightly increased its growth forecast for Poland in 2018 to 4.2 percent from the 4 percent forecasted in January.

In a statement, the World Bank said on Friday that the increase is due also to "record-low unemployment [that] is stimulating wage increases and supporting consumption. Also, investments are trending up." The World Bank has pointed out also some risks for the Polish economy, such as "labour force shortages in certain sectors like construction or IT." In medium term, the Bank added, other risks could originate from large social spending and shifting demographics. (ANSA).
