(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 20 - International markets, TEN-T
corridors, the investment plan for Southern Italy and ERTMS
system to launch Italy as the key player in the challenge for
the enhancement of a competitive, ever safer and interoperable
European railway network: these were the key themes of a meeting
held today in Brussels and attended by Gianfranco Battisti, CEO
and general manager of the Italian FS group. The CEO spoke about
these issues with the President of the European Parliament David
Sassoli, the European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni
and the members of the European Parliament's Transport
Commission, FS reported in a press release. The talks also
focused on the redesign of the trans-European network for
greater integration of Italy with the European network,
especially in the Balkans where new development initiatives are
being carried out. (ANSA).
