EU Commissioner Varhelyi in Serbia-Montenegro 6-7 February

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 5 - EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, will travel to Serbia and Montenegro on 6th and 7th February. He will meet the political leaders of the two Western Balkans' countries to discuss the reformed European enlargement process and the work ahead to implement the fundamental reforms to join the European Union, notably in the area of the rule of law.

Varhelyi himself announced the mission after the presentation of the new EU enlargement policies reform in Brussels. On Thursday 6th February, in Belgrade, the Commissioner will meet the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, and the major representatives of the majority and the opposition. On Friday 7th, Varhelyi will move to Montenegro, in Podgorica, where he will meet President Milo Dukanovic, Prime Minister Dusko Markovic and the opposition party delegations.
