Pope: 22-minute meeting with President of Moldova Dodon

(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY - A private 22-minute audience, in the presence of an interpreter, took place on Saturday between the Pope and the President of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Dodon, welcomed along with his wife and his two children.

The talks focused on peace and security at regional and international level. President Dodon had in the Vatican City two private audiences, with the Pope and the Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, accompanied by Mgr. Antoine Camilleri, Undersecretary for Relations with States. According to statement released by the Vatican press office, ''during these very friendly talks, satisfaction was expressed by both parties with good bilateral relations and the positive contribution made by the Catholic Church to the Moldovan society, especially through ecumenical commitment and educational and charitable initiatives''.
