(ANSA) - BRUXELLES, 28 GEN - The path that leads Macedonia towards the European Union is "very clear", the EU spokesperson Maja Kocjiancic said today after some local media reported that Greece could still block the accession of the ex Yugoslav country to the EU club. Last Friday, the Prespes Agreement between Greece and Macedonia changing the name of Macedonia, was ratified by the Greek parliament with a majority of 153 votes, with 146 voting against and one deputy abstaining with a vote of 'present'.

EU spokesperson recalled that "last year, the Council set a very clear path towards the opening of accession negotiations in June 2019". "We believe that in view of developments, efforts" by Skopje "need to be reinforced, this is a broader task that includes also work on the necessary reforms", she added.(ANSA).
