Kosovo: PM going to the Hague, tomorrow before the KLA Court

Haradinaj, we'll lift tariffs only if Serbia recognizes us

23 July, 18:42
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JULY 23 - The resigning Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj is at the Pristina airport, waiting to fly to The Hague, where he will be questioned tomorrow as a suspect by the Special Tribunal for the KLA crimes, the Kosovo Liberation Army of which he was one of the leaders. The departure (via Vienna) had been scheduled for mid-day but - according to Belgrade-based media - it was delayed for a few hours due to the delayed flight arriving from the Austrian capital. On 19 July, Haradinaj resigned as head of government to appear before the judges as a normal citizen and not as prime minister. Haradinaj reiterated his political position on Facebook, saying that Kosovo "is stronger than ever, moving towards Euro-Atlantic integration, deployed in favor of peace and close friend of the United States". Kosovo - he added - is ready to talk with Serbia to reach a final agreement providing for mutual recognition in the current borders. At the same time, Kosovo premier reiterated that tariffs increased by 100% on imports from Serbia will be abolished only when Belgrade recognizes Kosovo's independence. (ANSA).
