(ANSAmed) - BELGRADE, MAY 30 - Six Serbian civilians who were arrested on Tuesday during a police operation in northern Kosovo were released on Thursday, according to Belgrade media reports.

The reports said judges found there was not sufficient enough reason to justify prolonging their detention.

One of those released is a UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) employee.

In the police operation, which authorities in Pristina said was carried out as part of the fight against corruption and criminality, a second UNMIK employee, a Russian citizen, was also arrested.

A total of 28 people were arrested in the operation, 23 of whom are Serbian citizens, 19 of whom are police officers.
