Kosovo: Vucic, EU is mediator of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue

Serbia's president does not believe in new formats

(ANSA) - BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he believes there will be no changes in the current format of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which sees the EU as a mediator. ''I do not think we will change that format, and if any change is proposed, it will probably involve all the major powers, but I do not think this is something that can be implemented right now'', Vucic added, referring to the Serbian press's news on possible involvement in the dialogue of other important international players such as USA, Russia and Germany.

Underlinig how important it is to consult with important countries on the international scene such as USA, Russia, China, Germany, Vucic emphasized that ''the EU is directly involved in our negotiations and knows directly everything about the talks, checking on the agreements'implementation''.

The press in Belgrade argues, among other things, that even if the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini remains the main mediator, on behalf of the European Union a German politician could be involved more closely in the talks between Belgrade and Pristina, whereas the US intend to send an 'observer' to attend them.
