(ANSA) - LUBIANA - ''We should guarantee the sustainability of
the progress made and resolve outstanding issues to foster
cooperation and build trustful dialogue. Only a commitment such
as this will allow the countries in the region to focus on
challenges such as security, terrorism and immigration'',
Slovenia's Prime Minister Miro Cerar said during the Adriatic
Charter Summit, which he attended being his country crucial to
regional balance. The Adriatic Charter aims at supporting the
Euro-Atlantic integration of Southeastern Europe and consists of
the United States, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia,
FYROM, along with Serbia and Kosovo playing the role of
observers and Montenegro who joined the NATO a few months ago.
On the sidelines of this meeting, Cerar had bilateral meetings
with US Vice President Mike Pence, Montenegrin premier Duko
Markovic and his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenkovic.
Cerar reiterated to Plenkovic Slovenia's stance over the
implementation of the arbitration verdict on the borders between
the two countries. ''The key to regional stability - Slovenia's
prime minister emphasized- is strengthening the rule of law and
the respect for fundamental human rights and democratic
values''. (ANSA).
