Foreign Min., this could be reconciliation. Vucic, 'ridiculous'

(ANSA) - PRISTINA - Pristina is interested in starting the ''last phase of dialogue'' with Belgrade, in view of mutual recognition. Kosovo's Interior Minister Enver Hoxhaj said in an interview with the tv broadcaster Deutsche Welle. Hoxhaj underlined that Kosovo's independence could favour a process of genuine reconciliation between the peoples of Serbia and Kosovo. The entire region, he pointed out, is stuck a stalemate, since everbody is waiting for a mutual full recognition between Kosovo and Serbia, which should end up in a standardization of the relations between the two countries. Serbia's president Aleksandar Vucic replied to Hoxhaj. ''I've been hearing for years the things which were said in Pristina. This makes me smile, it's ridiculous''. Serbia refuses to recognise the independence proclaimed by Kosovo, southern province which has an Albanian majority, on February 17, 2008. Kosovo's independence has not yet been recognised by five of the 28 EU member states - Spain, Romania, Greece, Cyprus and Slovakia.
