Hungary: Orban, Soros behind migration through Balkans

PM, 'Mafia-like, covert network' favouring refugees

31 January, 19:47
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JANUARY 31 - The movement of migrants through the Balkans "is organized by the Soros Network," the Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban said in an interview on the public Kossuth Radio today, the government web portal About Hungary reported.

"One would have to be blind not to see that migration in the Balkans is organized by the Soros Network, this is de facto migration consultancy," Orban said on the radio. The "consultancy" in favour of migration takes the form of a "Mafia-like, covert network" financed by Soros's "funding of NGOs and purchasing of politicians," the Hungarian prime minister added. Commenting the recent incident at the Roszke border crossing point, where around 60 migrants tried to cross irregularly from Serbia to Hungary on Tuesday, Orban said: "We have seen this before. There was an attempt near Roszke in 2015, too." "It's not easy to break into Hungary; we have built a tough technical barrier," Orban added, alleging that migrants trying to enter Hungary "are military-age men in good physical shape, who have been prepared."
