(ANSA) - UDINE, 4 NOV - Karlovarske mineralni vody (KMV), a Czech-Italian company, the biggest producer of mineral and spring water in the Czech Republic, based in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), has received a green light from the Czech, Slovak and Hungarian anti-monopoly regulators to assume the assets of PepsiCo in the three countries, Tasr reported. The acquisition, which was announced earlier this year, was okayed this week by the Czech regulator as the last authority in the three countries.

KMV claims that the deal has made it Central Europe's biggest distributor of non-alcoholic beverages. "The acquisition will be formally concluded in the next few months," said KMV owner Alessandro Pasquale.

Its current portfolio includes brands such as Mattoni, Magnesia, Aquila and Podebradka, a total of eleven plants and 2,400 employees, Tasr also reported. By assuming PepsiCo's branches, KMV has taken over three companies with two plants and another 900 employees in total. As part of the deal, KMV has acquired several well-known brands, including Pepsi, Mirinda, 7Up and Lay's. (ANSA).
