Memorandum CEI-AII to foster cooperation between regions

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, MAY 8 - A Memorandum of Understanding to
promote regional cooperation and sustainable development was
signed by the CEI Secretary-General Roberto Antonione and by the
Secretary-General of the Adriatic and Ionian Initiative (AII)
Giovanni Castellaneta during the session of the AII Council in
Budva (Montenegro).
The signing - a press release reported - seals the partnership between the CEI Executive Secretariat and the AII Permanent Secretariat and aims to enhance regional cooperation and sustainable development. The MoU is a step forward to design further initiatives and carry out joint activities, as well as an exchange of skills in project management in areas of common interest and in favour of all citizens.
''We aim to promote projects in the area of Blue Growth, connectivity, environmental protection, sustainable tourism, research and innovation, culture and education in our regions'', Antonione said.
Some managers at both organizations will be given the task of coordinating the implementation of the Memorandum and facilitating the exchange of information on common activities.
